Project Background and Objectives
IFC has embarked on an ambitious new growth strategy (IFC 3.0) to create, deepen, and expand markets and to imagine, design and implement investment projects especially in Low Income Countries and Fragile and Conflict affected Situations. It requires understanding the regional and local market environments as well as sector- and firm-specific challenges which may include regulatory bottlenecks that prevent the flow of private capital into productive investment and addressing these challenges through WBG engagement at the country and sector level. Upstream & Advisory Teams implement this strategy in close cooperation with colleagues from IFC and the wider WBG.
