General Description:
Ensure the sustainability of the organization through the implementation of a Local and International Fund Development Strategy aligned with the mission and organizational principles. Lead the search for opportunities and the formulation of proposals and projects for institutional partners to guarantee funding for the organization's strategic lines. Also, act as a portfolio manager for all existing donors. The fundraising coordinator will report to the executive director and will also coordinate with the Latin America Fundraising Director of Operation Smile Inc.
Main Functions
1. Fund Development Strategy:
- Create, develop, and implement the fundraising strategy for cash and in-kind donations, according to the programmatic and administrative needs of the foundation, through donor maintenance, loyalty, expansion, growth, and development of new donors.
- Implement strategies for local and international cash and in-kind fundraising, including a communication plan to be developed with the Communications resource, aligned with the local and regional context.
- Monitor and report performance indicators related to fundraising, to both the Local Board and the Regional OSI Team.
- Create and lead relationships with executive-level decision-makers (managers and directors of marketing, social responsibility, human resources, general managers of companies, local vice presidents, among others).
- Lead cause marketing campaigns in the country.
- Secure corporate and related partnerships to fund the organization's activities.
- Create and develop strategies for acquiring and retaining individual donors.
- Direct and coordinate activities promoting the organization's services.
- Collaborate with other program countries in the region or globally to expand existing partnerships.
- Lead and coordinate fundraising events.
- Lead, create, and execute fundraising workshops.
- Conduct market research for the development and implementation of the fundraising strategy.
2. Fundraising Monitoring and Follow-Up:
- Track donations and present periodic management and accountability reports required by donors.
- Regularly update the detailed database of current sponsors and prospects.
- Monitor income and funding needs.
- Ensure the success and compliance of implemented projects.
- Be responsible for the inventory of non-medical in-kind donations for the fundraising area.
- Prepare monthly reports on income and outflows of in-kind product inventory.
- Develop donor loyalty plans.
- Lead meetings and events to keep donors and allies close to the organization's mission.
3. Financial Management:
- Prepare the annual budget for the fundraising area and budgets for campaigns and events.
- Prepare expense reports for Administration and Finance, according to organizational guidelines.
- Prepare income and expense reports for fundraising events and campaigns.
4. Support Functions:
- Develop team capabilities and seek partnerships to strengthen key areas.
- Participate in surgical programs when needed.
- Attend Board of Directors sessions as a guest when required.
- Support traditional fundraising events organized by the foundation.
- Represent the organization in public presentations related to the institution's image when needed.
- Follow up and manage corporate volunteers to encourage their participation in the organization's programs and events
Requirements
Requirements:
- 1- 2 years of experience in nonprofit, fundraising, digital marketing and communications or equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, business or related, relevant field of study.
- Computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook.
- Advanced level of English, oral and written.
- Advanced level of Spanish, oral and written.
- 1 – 2 years knowledge of current and developing best practices in online fundraising strategies, social media, mobile and new technologies. Interest in staying up to date on industry developments.
- High level of computer literacy, including experience with project management software, content management systems, Power BI, etc. Experience with Adobe products and graphic design is a plus.
