OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. This person will play a key role in validating data pipelines, monitoring processes, supporting the product team, and analyzing data to ensure the quality of our gold tables and reports.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently enrolled in or graduated from a degree or technical program in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of PySpark for data manipulation in distributed environments.
- Proficiency in SQL for query creation and data analysis.
- Analytical skills to identify patterns, anomalies, or data issues.
- Good communication skills to work with both technical and product teams.
- Proactive attitude to suggest improvements and seek data understanding.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Optional):
- Previous experience with cloud data tools (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, etc.).
- Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge of Python for data process automation.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Assist in validating data pipelines, ensuring data integrity and timely updates.
- Analyze and validate “gold” tables (business data layer), identifying possible inconsistencies or issues.
- Monitor automated data ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes.
- Identify and report issues such as data load delays, ingestion failures, or KPI discrepancies.
- Collaborate with business teams to clarify questions related to data and reports.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data governance and monitoring processes.
