The Manager of Legal for Brazil is a key member of the regional legal team, responsible for supporting the alignment of legal services with business priorities, managing legal risks, and contributing to the development of legal processes and capabilities across the region.
This role provides legal support for Brazil operations, including reviewing and negotiating commercial and legal documents, supporting corporate legal affairs, compliance initiatives, and procurement-related legal matters. The Manager may also contribute to due diligence process and the preparation of documentation for M&A transactions or others strategic projects, as needed.
Additionally, the Manager will collaborate closely with the Director of Legal, LatAm, and other senior legal and business leaders to help implement legal standards, support training initiatives, and contribute to the development of consistent contracting practices across the region.
Legal Procurement Support
- Support the drafting, review, and negotiation of key commercial agreements, vendor contracts, communications, and other significant contracts, ensuring alignment with company policies and standards.
- Collaborate closely with the procurement department to ensure vendor agreements are implemented and applied effectively and consistently, while identifying opportunities to standardize and improve related processes.".
- Assist in managing vendor-related disputes, working toward timely and effective resolutions in alignment with contractual obligations and business priorities.
- Provide practical legal input on the implementation and negotiation of vendor agreements, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and business objectives.
Corporate Legal and Compliance
- Assist in the preparation, review, and coordination of inter-company contracts ensuring alignment with jurisdiction-specific requirements and compliance with corporate standards.
- Support the preparation and filing of corporate documents and reports related to existing agreements ensuring compliance with corporate governance requirements and fulfillment of statutory obligations, such as updating corporate books, proving legal assistance on the submission of annual financial statements, maintaining board and shareholders’ meeting minutes, and filing changes in company structure or representation with the relevant authorities.
- Collaborate with the compliance team to help implement corporate policies, conduct FCPA and OFAC checks, and support training initiatives across the region while identifying opportunities to standardize and improve related processes.
Legal Manager – General Responsibilities
- Support the Legal Director LatAm in monitoring team performance by providing regular feedback, recognizing contributions, and escalating performance issues, when necessary, in coordination with team leaders.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the legal team, identifying opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Assist in supervising and mentoring junior legal staff, ensuring they have the tools, training, and support needed to perform effectively and proving regularly feedback.
- Monitor local legislative and regulatory developments and provide timely updates to the legal team and relevant departments to ensure compliance.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new contractual models to support evolving business needs.
- Respond to internal client inquiries related to existing agreements, ensuring timely and accurate legal guidance.
- Contribute to the efficient management of day-to-day legal operations by prioritizing tasks, coordinating with external counsel when needed, and maintaining a well-organized, responsive, and business-aligned legal function.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment by supporting change initiatives, promoting company values, and encouraging continuous improvement.
- Assist in the rollout and adoption of regional legal standardization projects, including tools and policies such as Delegation of Authority (DOA), procurement policy, FCPA, OFAC, e-contracts, and Salesforce.
- Provide practical legal advice across departments, serving as a trusted in-house advisor with a strong understanding of legal matters relevant to the telecommunications industry, including regulatory compliance, commercial transactions, and operational risk management.
Supervisory Responsinilities
- Supervise and manage the performance of the legal team underneath.
- Participate in the recruitment, development, and retention of talent in partnership with senior management, the Recruitment team, and Human Resources. This includes onboarding and guiding new employees, when necessary.
- Proactively address and help resolve personnel issues in collaboration with Human Resources, when necessary, fostering a supportive team environment by staying closely engaged with team members and leading by example throughout the resolution process.
- Define and communicate annual goals, perform formal and informal performance reviews, and ensure changes and updates are communicated in a timely and professional manner.
- Promote a positive and enjoyable work environment that encourages collaboration and accountability, ensuring that commitments are followed through and objectives are achieved.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Law from an accredited law school.
- Specialization in the assigned field (Compliance, Litigation, M&A, MLA, Corporate, New Business, Real Estate, etc.).
- Master’s degree in Law from an accredited law school.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years’ work experience in a legal corporate environment.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the required specialization field.
- Previous experience in a multinational company.
- Previous experience as a people manager.

- Excellent written and spoken Spanish/Portuguese and English fluency required.
