We are looking for someone who understands the heart of mobile networks — how subscribers move, connect, and roam across the world. In this role, you will manage the critical mobility functions that keep our customers connected everywhere. From Update Location procedures in HLR, HSS, and UDM, to designing and maintaining roaming profiles across 3G, 4G, and 5G, you’ll make sure mobility always works seamlessly.
You’ll work on roaming profiles that not only define network access but also identify VPLMNs by both GTs and MCC/MNC. You’ll handle the nuances of Cancel Location when new IMSIs register on the same SIM, and you’ll ensure that subscriber state is synchronized across multiple data centers — even when traffic scales to tens of millions of users.
Resilience is key in this role. You’ll support VNF recovery and failover without service impact, and you’ll troubleshoot complex roaming issues across multi-vendor environments. Along the way, you’ll work with interconnect agreements, ensure compliance with industry standards, and collaborate with partners to strengthen roaming architecture worldwide.
This position is for an engineer who thrives on complexity, scale, and impact — ensuring that mobility and roaming are not just reliable, but exceptional.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of mobile core mobility management, including Update Location (UL) procedures in HLR, HSS, and UDM.
- Experience with configuration, management, and maintenance of roaming profiles, including dedicated roaming profiles per IMSI type and network type (3G/4G/5G).
- Ability to design roaming profiles that identify the VPLMN by both GTs & MCC/MNC.
- Knowledge of interconnect agreements and roaming arrangements between operators.
- Expertise in Cancel Location procedures for IMSIs when a new IMSI registers under the same SIM.
- Understanding of roaming architecture, signaling, routing, and subscriber data handling across multi-vendor networks.
- Ability to troubleshoot mobility and roaming issues in complex network environments.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for mobile network roaming and subscriber management.
