Organizational Setting

The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.
Reporting Lines
The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil – Programme.
Technical Focus
Perform data and information analysis on agrarian conflicts in the countryside, forest and waters with a focus on the analysis of the specific impacts on women leaders.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Conduct bibliographic research and data and information surveys
- Prepare technical reports in a format to be specified, relevant to the activities of the Terms of Reference
- Define, in collaboration with the supervisor, which states should be selected as the object of analysis in each of the geographic regions
- Subsidize and monitor the actions developed on the subject of Impacts of Violence in Agrarian Conflicts on Female Peasant Leaders
- Provide the MDA with information and parameters regarding the topic pertinent to the Terms of Reference
- Perform technical systematization of events on the subject of Impacts of Violence in Agrarian Conflicts on Female Peasant Leaders
- Prepare the Work Plan and Products as established in the Terms of Reference
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING:
Minimum Requirements
- University degree in Agricultural Sciences
- Minimum professional experience of 08 (eight) years in professional and/or militant work with rural women
- Working knowledge of English and Portuguese
- National of Brazil or resident of the country with valid work permit

- Participation in studies on human rights, rural women, peasant conflicts, peasant struggles or implementation of public policies for family farming
- Doctorate in the area of social sciences according to the CAPES table of areas of knowledge
