About The Role
The Communications Lead is responsible for the proactive planning and execution of internal and external communication programs in line with the global organization’s purpose, strategy and culture. This lead also delivers internal and external communication programs for the organization to ensure desired business outcomes are achieved.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Coaches leaders and managers on their communication skills; oversees communication plans and channels globally and/or across multiple manufacturing sites, working with and supporting site and functional teams to ensure a cohesive communications strategy .
- Acts as a business partner, collaborating with functional managers to develop and implement internal communication programs to ensure desired business outcomes are achieved.
- Understands and incorporates local/area strategy, culture and employee engagement into communications to keep efforts relevant, contextualized and on target, generating enthusiasm and pride.
- Manages public relations efforts, including crisis communication planning and execution, stakeholder engagement, community relations and government relations to maintain a positive reputation and identify opportunities for the company.
- Coordinates and executes communications activities at tactical level, monitors the performance measures, reports on progress.
- Ensures consistency across communications to ensure alignment with the brand and further business objectives as well as people and culture initiatives.
- Leverages internal channels to inform, engage, inspire, and bring team members together across the globe.
- Writes and edits compelling content for key initiatives, including creative ideas for design and delivery.
- Writes effective press copy and other documents for release to the media and to the public.
- Maintains vendor relationships to ensure that high quality services are provided at competitive prices.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media contacts to proactively manage media inquiries and secure media coverage that positively impacts the company’s image.
Requisitos e qualificações
We’re interested in hearing from people who possess:
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.
- Advanced English skills.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related field, preferably within the industrial sector.
- A passion for delivering effective communications and the competence to contribute to and execute strategic programs as well as tactical activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences and a variety of channels.
- Strong interpersonal skills that enable you to build relationships and collaborate effectively at all levels of an organization.
- Strong media relations experience with a track record of securing positive media coverage.
- The capability to work independently, prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices, environmental issues, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the chemical industry.
- Experience managing and/or mentoring staff, including direct report as well as those beyond your immediate team.
