In doing so, the team works hand-in-hand with our insurance partners and outside counsel to drive solutions and innovate. The Uber Legal Team is currently searching for a Safety & Insurance Litigation Counsel with expertise in civil, consumer, and insurance law, and experience managing complex litigation. You will report to a Sr. Counsel, based in Brazil. This position is open to the São Paulo office.

The Uber Legal Team is currently searching for a Safety & Insurance Litigation Counsel with expertise in civil, consumer, and insurance law, and experience managing complex litigation. You will report to a Sr. Counsel, based in Brazil. This position is open to the São Paulo office.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Manage a portfolio of insurance claims and litigation in Brazil.
- Set litigation strategy and assist Outside Counsel throughout all phases of the litigation lifecycle.
- Provide legal advice on civil liability, insurance-related risks, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Act as liaison with internal stakeholders to align litigation strategy with business goals.
- Review and manage legal documents and data in internal systems.
- Support the preparation of playbooks, internal training, and business reports.
- Collaborate closely with other members of the legal team, including employment, regulatory, operations, and public safety.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Minimum of six (6) years of legal experience in private practice and/or in-house, with focus on civil liability and insurance litigation.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
- Litigation experience across multiple jurisdictions.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects independently.
- Experience with Google Workplace and Microsoft Office.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English. Spanish is a strong plus.
- Admitted to practice law in Brazil.
- Familiarity with digital tools and legal tech platforms.
- Enthusiasm for Uber's mission and legal innovation.
