Job Description
Your Role: Field Service Engineer
As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our recycling equipment operates at peak performance. You’ll be responsible for commissioning, maintaining, and optimizing TOMRA’s cutting-edge sorting systems, primarily across Brazil /South and Central America, with occasional assignments in other geographical areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commission, operate, test, integrate, optimize, maintain, and repair TOMRA recycling equipment.
- Support auxiliary recycling processing equipment.
- Provide on-call technical support and field response for equipment and customer needs.
- Train customers’ maintenance and service teams.
- Act as the close contact for the local installation base, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and profitability.
- Travel approximately 150-180 days per year, both domestically and internationally.
Qualifications
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Control & Instrumentation, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years’ experience in industrial equipment support.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English is required; Spanish or French is a plus
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on expertise in electrical systems (analog/digital circuits, PLCs, power circuits).
- Knowledge of computer hardware, configurations, and MS Office.
- Experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, voltmeters).
- Preferred background in recycling environments.
- Ability to work independently and build strong customer relationships.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 80 lbs, working in confined spaces, and extreme temperatures.
- Ability to distinguish colors in the full spectrum.
- Willingness to travel extensively (up to 80%).
- Valid passport and unrestricted driving ability.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
