Amazon seeks a Finance Manager, FP&A, to play a key role on the International Emerging Stores Payments (IESP) Finance team, supporting payment financial planning & analysis in emerging countries. This exciting, fast paced, high visibility role allows you to gain deep knowledge of the P&L, financial and business metrics as well as the opportunity to influence Product, Sales and Marketing strategies. This role collaborates closely with the business team, product team, Consumer Payments finance team and leadership to shape strategy and translate that plan into financial outlooks.
The person will be part of a team responsible for long and short-term financial planning, monthly and quarterly P&L, and providing analytical support for Senior Business Management. This position requires a candidate with strong communication and leadership skills. A portion of the time will be spent on ad hoc analyses to support the growing business needs and new business initiatives. The finance team works closely with the business teams, so any candidate should be able to work well with cross functional teams. The ideal candidate must have superior attention to detail, project management skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Ideal candidates will have the following strengths:
- Comfortable working independently in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
- The ability to translate large amounts of data into useful information and actionable conclusions
- Strong written and oral communication skills combined with the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads
- An understanding of finance issues in an operational environment of rapid growth
- Solid business judgment and controllership focus
- Strong financial modeling skills, including excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, and SQL
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- Six Sigma Black Belt
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
- Experience as a lean sensei, or experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
- Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field
- Experience in accounts receivable or account payable
- Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes
- Proficient in English, both written and oral
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
