Purpose of the Job
Oxitec is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Quality Control Researcher to join our team in Brazil. This is an exciting position that will place the candidate to support all activities of quality control of an innovative and Friendly™ insect technology. We are seeking a passionate candidate who will be directly involved with the quality control analysis of samples collected from entomological production as well as supporting the development of new quality methodologies, laboratory routines, data support, production incoming goods analysis and support quality assurance area to elaborate and/or review quality documentation. This position will work with other staff members to make sure procedures and products adhere to established quality standards. Experience with laboratory activities and insect rearing or manipulation are interesting, but even important is the willingness to learn and the dream of changing the world for the better.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality control and inspection of incoming materials and goods to ensure they conform to all applicable company standards and specifications.
- Monitor the stages of the production process and performs quality controls according to product specifications to ensure they conform to all applicable company standards and specifications.
- Manipulation of products and/or their raw materials to perform laboratory analysis.
- Perform environmental monitoring and assessment of production and laboratory areas.
- Accurately record data in lab notebooks and digital applications.
- Support on laboratory housekeeping, such as organization and general maintenance of the work environment.
- Time flexibility - for weekends and holidays, occasionally when necessary.
Skills, Experience, and Education Requirements
- Technical background or graduate student in
Biology, Food Engineering, Chemistry,
Biochemistry or related areas.
- Experience with laboratory activities and routines is desired but not mandatory.
- Good writing and text interpretation skills.
- Good communication and active listening skills.
- Good Microsoft Office skills.
- Good Manufactory Practice knowledge is a differential.
- Knowledge of the English language is a differential.
