JOB PURPOSE (General Summary)
The Trait Integration and Population Development (TIPD) Lead plays a critical role in driving innovation and excellence in research at the Palmas Site. This position is accountable for ensuring the timely delivery of conversions and populations, following high quality and quantity standards. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with partners in breeding, CRSP Site Leads, and CRSP Operational and Strategy Leads.
Additionally, the TIPD Lead will oversee budget administration, alignment of HR practices, safety, and regulatory compliance, ensuring the seamless and efficient execution of all operations. The TIPD Lead will also be a member of the Palmas leadership team, ensuring site priorities are aligned and resources are utilized efficiently through a unified team approach.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Duty/Responsibility and % of Time
Provide Technical and Strategic Direction: Guide and oversee the Palmas team in technical and strategic initiatives. Develop and implement strategies to achieve team goals and objectives.
Maintain Strong Communication with TIPD team: Ensure effective and fluid communication with Palmas TIPD team. Coordinate resource availability to maximize project efficiency and timely seed delivery.
Provide Technical Leadership and Operational Oversight: Lead multiple projects with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance. Ensure projects are executed efficiently and meet all regulatory standards.
Promote Innovation in Processes and Standards: Drive innovation to improve overall delivery. Evaluate current processes, explore new methodologies, and implement solutions.
Be an active member of the Palmas Leadership Team: Engage in teams focused on quality, safety, seed production, innovation, and logistics. Foster a positive working environment and contribute actively to the BN Leadership Team.

Ability to lead teams to implement and execute plans.
Constant monitoring of production results to measure target accomplishment and adjust processing factors. Communicate issues proactively to operational leaders to identify potential solutions.
Identify specific solutions for each crop/project to address individual challenges and issues.
DECISION MAKING
Ability to identify potential problems in operations and implement mitigation plans that ensure delivery. Determine best practices and protocols that each site/crop/ process and train execution teams appropriately. Ability to reallocate resources when needed based on product development strategy changes. Ability to implement and manage change
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor or master university degree and highly technical related experience on plant breeding, plant sciences is required.
Minimum of 10 years research experience.
Deep understanding of trait integration techniques and backcrossing.
Strong leadership, ability to lead via influence and/or people management skills. Proven ability to work well with a wide range of people and different levels of workload. Demonstrated success many large, complex sites.
Strong creative and analytical skills as well as ability to translate data, analysis and results into meaningful and easy to understand plans for execution teams.
Require excellent organizational, communication skills and attention to detail, fluency in written and spoken English, ability to work across diverse cultures is required
