Quorum is the leading provider of AI-powered workflow software for public affairs professionals. Our platform helps over 2,000 organizations—including over half the Fortune 100—track legislation, manage stakeholders, and take strategic action across all levels of government.
AI is now at the heart of our platform—from semantic search and bill analysis to Copilot recommendations and personalized insights. The GenAI Engineering Manager will be a key technical leader in bringing this strategy to life.
About the Role
As Engineering Manager, you’ll lead 2 or 3 teams delivering GenAI features across Quorum’s platform. You’ll work cross-functionally with Product, Data, and Design teams to translate business goals into scalable, AI-first solutions.
You’ll be responsible for leading execution and engineering quality across:
- Agentic AI systems that power multi-step Copilot workflows
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and hybrid search infrastructure
- LLM-based personalization and summarization for legislative, regulatory, and media content
- AI evaluation frameworks that track accuracy, latency, and user trust
- Developer productivity tools that support rapid, reliable AI delivery
While you’ll engage in architecture and hands-on discussions, your focus is team leadership, technical execution, and building repeatable delivery patterns for AI-first development.
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, with 1–3+ years in technical leadership or management
- Proven technical project management and stakeholder management skills within an agile environment
- Experience shipping LLM-based & agentic AI systems in production—e.g., Chatbots, RAG, semantic search, summarization, agentic workflows
- Technical fluency in Python, AWS, and orchestration libraries such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or OpenAI/Bedrock APIs
- Familiarity with vector databases and hybrid search tools (e.g., Qdrant, OpenSearch, Pinecone)
- Experience leading teams through ambiguity, iteration, and tight feedback loops
- Strong people leadership skills—mentoring ICs, guiding system design, and improving engineering maturity
- A bias toward action and learning—shipping fast while investing in quality and infrastructure
Why Quorum
- Lead a team building core GenAI features in a mission-driven company
- Work across multiple product surfaces—legislative tracking, insights, search, and digests
- Partner with senior engineers and data scientists on a high-caliber technical team
- Remote flexibility, strong leadership support, and a clear roadmap for AI growth

About the Software Development Team
- We're a fast-growing team dedicated to improving our people, processes, and platform. The team is primarily structured into product-oriented squads.
- We support many different products but internally think of them as one system with a single unified codebase. We aim to build centralized systems that handle complex problems for multiple features and products.
- We’re focused on doing the important things the right way -- we write solid documentation, test our code well, design for scale, and follow defined software development processes.
- We follow best-in-class security practices to safeguard our data and application against bad actors. We regularly test and update processes and technology to fight complacency because we know good security is a continuous effort.
- We curate high-quality datasets essential for effective mapping and tracking of the government and public affairs spaces. Our datasets underpin our promise to give users the information necessary to make smart decisions influencing policy.
- We set rigorous quality standards and monitor them with a mix of programmatic and manual verifications to ensure users maintain high trust in our systems.
- We’re very close as a team and invest not only in each others’ skills and careers but also in building real relationships with one another: product development is a team sport, and we believe that it’s better (and more fun) to work on a team of people that you know well and care about.
Our Work Environment
- We are a remote-first team with flexible work options: work remotely, or you may choose to come into our office in Belo Horizonte.
