Accountabilities:
Develop and implement a robust and well-structured Medical Affairs Plan, considering AZ BSC, local priorities, MKT Strategies (Brand Plan), medical and confidence strengths & gaps.
Manage Medical Managers and MSL Manager of R&I therapeutic area.
Report to the Medical Affairs Director.
Prepare reports to the Director on the progress of activities, status of new projects among others.
Manage MSLs KPI’s and ensure appropriate standards based on AZ guidance.
Support Value Proposition and Market Access Strategy for R&I Products.
Deep knowledge about products and disease’s confidence and evidence gaps & strengths, driving proposals for clinical studies and evidence generation plan.
Participate in the definition of communication plans (campaign briefings, samples, etc.), collaborating with the Brand Manager in the preparation of the contents of promotional materials.
Technically evaluate promotional materials and documents, website content, training sponsorships, AZ meeting proposals, co-sponsored and independent, in accordance with ethical, pharmacovigilance and compliance standards.
Provide medical leadership on faculty and content development for medical programs including national congresses, advisory boards, scientific exchange meetings, publications, CMEs to meet identified needs.
Establish relationships with medical entities and key external experts and develop speakers.
Train the different teams in the pathologies related to the therapeutic area in question.
Answer physicians and sales force inquiries, clarifying and/or guiding questions about products.
Ensure that Pharmacovigilance activities meet internal SOP and local regulations.
Collaborate with ClinOps to deliver clinical studies that are carried out in accordance with AZ SOPs and cGCP. Support Clinical team to select appropriate investigators and sites optimizing quality, delivery and commercial benefit.
Ensure compliance with AZ code of conduct, Corporate Governance, Audits requirement, guidelines, codes, policies and procedures. Ensure that company confidentiality is maintained (i.e. intellectual property, product, strategic and salary information).
Technical evaluation of opportunities in New Business products and services feasibility, in alignment with crossfunctional team.
Generate and implement local evidence gap and evidence plan.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Medical Doctor: Qualified Medical Doctor, with Medical Specialization, preferable in the same TA
Experience in Medical Affairs role (at least 5 years)
Working experience in pharma company
Understanding of multiple aspects within Medical Affairs
Knowledge on Clinical Trials, biostatistics and study design
Scientific mindset that demonstrates clear understanding of KEEs’ questions and responds appropriately with scientific balance and translate medical perspectives into activities to meet brand strategy
Communication and influence sharing scientific knowledge with Sales, Marketing & Commercial teams, adapting communication according to the audience.
Easy translation and communication of scientific or clinical data to non-specialty personnel and specialist (internal and external)
Basic skills in presentation, inquiring, facilitation (negotiation and leadership)
Be able to explain to internal stakeholder the strategy plan
Knowledge of RDC 96 & Interfarma Code requirements
Knowledge in MS Office suite
Spoken and written English.

Master degree in a scientific discipline or MBA
Business Acumen
Experience in relationship and stakeholder management
Experience with immunology, respiratory or vaccine
Project management experience
Previous experience with team management
