We are looking for the Regional EHS Operations Leader to complete our Latam team. This position is based in Brazil, work location ideally Campinas or Sao Paulo.
Role Description :
The purpose of this role is to support robust Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices across LATAM, with a focus on regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and operational excellence for all countries, highlighting Brazil, Peru, and Mexico. This position assists in the development and implementation of EHS programs, contributes to continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives, and ensures alignment with international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001). By providing administrative support, promoting a proactive safety culture, and working closely with management and service teams, this role enhances operational efficiency, supports achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs), and helps safeguard the well-being of all employees and stakeholders.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and initiatives across LATAM, focusing on Brazil (NR 1–38), Peru (Ley N° 29783), and Mexico (NOM-STPS), in line with ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 9001 (Quality Management)
- Develop, implement, and update safety, health, and environmental programs, including Electronic Social Security System, Individual Protective Equipment (IPI), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and required documentation (PPP – Social Security Professional Profile, AST – Work Safety Analysis, APR – Preliminary Risk Analysis, CAT – Work Accident Communication, ASO – Occupational Health Certificate)
- Provide administrative support to management and service areas.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions and compliance
- Lead emergency response planning, regulatory monitoring, and maintain permits, licenses, and documentation
- Inform and train personnel on safe practices, deliver Daily Safety Dialogue (DDS), Safety, Health, and Environment (SSMA) lectures, and EHS trainings, including new hire orientation and medical checks
- Manage environmental licensing, Fire Department Inspection Certificate (AVCB), audits, waste disposal, and documentation uploads
- Promote a proactive safety culture, continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma), and Health and Safety Committee participation
- Oversee EHS compliance for contractors and suppliers, and lead sustainability initiatives (waste, energy, water, carbon footprint
- Provide recommendations for operational improvement, support achievement of service key performance indicators (KPIs), and work with the services team to enhance operational efficiency
- Track and report EHS data and KPIs, and support health and wellness programs
- Communicate EHS policies and performance to stakeholders, and support cost optimization and team integration, including language development (English and Spanish)
- Perform related other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, CSP, ISO lead auditor) are considered a plus.
- Experience supporting EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) activities in industrial or service sectors, ideally across LATAM
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations in LATAM countries, with emphasis on Brazil, Peru, and Mexico, and familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards
- Demonstrated skills in risk assessment, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance. Experience delivering EHS training and supporting audits, licensing, and documentation
- Involvement in emergency response, sustainability, and process improvement initiatives
- Ability to work with KPIs and assist management teams
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish
- AExperience collaborating with contractors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams
· Willingness to travel for short periods (incl. internationally), up to 25% or the time, based on needs
