We are looking for a Strategy and Sales Operations leader for the AWS LatAm (Latin America) Global Sales Operations team to help drive long-term growth of the business. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on and motivated self-starter who is passionate about using data and has a track record of leadership to help us measure and run every area of the business and influence decision-making. In this role, the candidate will develop and execute AWS LatAm business cadences, continuously evolve forecasting models, analyze historical results, and make business recommendations based on those analyses – all in an environment of rapid growth and increasing complexity. As the COO to the VP of AWS LatAm and a member of the AWS LatAm leadership team, this role will develop, implement, and manage the business processes, systems, reports, and strategies that optimize business functions to meet organizational goals and initiatives. The scope for LatAm Geo covers AWS markets across Latin America which are organized in 4 Areas – Mexico, Brazil, and an aggregation of multiple countries grouped under North LatAm (NOLA), and South LatAm (SOLA) respectively, each of which are managed by an Area Sales leader who reports to the VP Sales LatAm.

This position manages the execution of Geo business targets and goals, headcount plans, market segmentation, and demand generation campaigns while proposing improvements to increase business effectiveness and drive desired results. The ideal candidate must be hands-on with data and models, combining analytical excellence with strong problem-solving abilities. They should have experience working with large datasets and relevant technical tools. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across teams, including Business Intelligence, Business Development, Finance, Marketing, Recruiting, and Compensation. Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a key partner and advisor to the Vice President of AWS LatAm, supporting and/or representing them when needed
- Drive the operating model to support growth strategies, including Public Sector-specific initiatives
- Support the execution and scaling of Generative AI initiatives to unlock data-driven insights and support customer innovation
- Collaborate on the design, development, maintenance, and delivery of forecasting models, metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions
- Serve as an active member of the AWS LatAm Geo leadership team, contributing to initiatives and decisions
- Lead the annual LatAm Geo/Area goals recommendations, budgeting, and ongoing forecasting processes
- Use metrics and supporting business dashboards to give visibility to senior management regarding business operations and customer segment performance
- Work cross-functionally to drive overall sales organization readiness, including territory planning, investment guidance, and headcount allocation
- Help build and drive strategic change plans across the sales organization
- Drive the operating model to support growth strategies
- Assist in defining, landing, and executing strategic initiatives for the LatAm field sales teams
- Collaborate with internal end-users and cross-functional teams to incubate new programs and implement new initiatives with the field sales teams

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field
- 10+ years in a senior leadership role in Finance, Sales Operations, Business Development, e.g. the development and implementation of systems/tool utilized for CRM, sales compensation, revenue reporting, forecasting, sales force automation, etc.
- Strong business-process design experience. Exhibits sound business judgment, a proven ability to influence others, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership, leading data-driven analyses, and influencing results
- Able to operate successfully in a lean, fast-paced organization, and to create a vision and organization that can scale quickly
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of presenting to senior management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working within a high-growth, technology company would be highly beneficial
- MBA or other relevant advanced degree
