Job Type: Part-Time
Salary: [Competitive – Based on Experience]
About the Founder Institute:
The Founder Institute (FI) is a global network of startup incubators, accelerators, and investors on a mission to activate and empower communities of entrepreneurs worldwide.
Since 2009, we’ve helped launch over 8,000 companies in 200+ cities globally, which have raised nearly $2BN in funding. We are based in Silicon Valley and have remote team members across the United States, Europe, India, and Brazil. Our success has been documented in the New York Times, BusinessWeek, Forbes, TechCrunch, and more.
About the Role:
The Portfolio Success Team is responsible for ensuring the long-term success of founders after graduation from our accelerator programs. This role combines operational rigor with relationship management and strategic storytelling to maintain a healthy, active, and visible alumni network. You will lead efforts in portfolio audits, investor updates, mentor matchmaking, founder support, and newsletter creation, driving meaningful outcomes across the entire post-program journey.
This is a fully remote position with a preference for candidates that are located in Brazil or another LATAM country.
You will report directly to the Director of Portfolio Success, and have the opportunity to see entrepreneurship and venture capital from many angles, and work with a small and mission-driven team.
Our Culture:
At the Founder Institute, we work a lot like the early-stage startups we support. That means things move fast, and we thrive on creativity, ownership, and a “let’s figure it out” mindset. Here’s what we look for in our team:
- You’re naturally entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and enjoy tackling challenges head-on.
- You prefer autonomy over hand-holding and don’t need a lot of oversight to get things done.
- You love learning new things, and when you hit a roadblock, your first instinct is to dig in, research, and find a solution—Google is your best friend.
- You’re open to feedback (even when it’s tough), and always looking to grow and improve—both personally and as part of the team.
If that sounds exciting to you, we’d love to hear from you.
- Maintain an accurate and current view of the portfolio's health to support investment strategy, reporting, and marketing.
- Ensure ongoing visibility of alumni wins, helping surface credible stories for investors, newsletters, and partners.
- Assist with the preparation of comprehensive quarterly reports for investors in the Founder Institute network.
- Engage with founders and explore ways that the Portfolio Success Team can provide value to the company and address company needs.
- Engage with the FI Alumni community, ensuring that they are actively engaged, kept up to date on relevant opportunities and supported by the Portfolio Success Team.
- Actively engage with the FI investor community, including sharing relevant and high-quality, data-backed content via the newsletter and providing introductions to our portfolio when required.
- Provide timely and effective operational support to ensure a smooth post-program experience for all FI alumni.
Qualifications and Skills:
Required:
- 0 - 2 years of experience in program management, portfolio management, or operations within a startup accelerator, incubator, or venture capital firm.
- Passion in supporting founders post-program, whether through mentoring, event coordination, or matchmaking with investors and partners.
- Experience using Marketing tools (Mailchimp), project management software (e.g., Asana, Notion), and event platforms (e.g., Airmeet, Zoom).
- A self-starter who can take a project and manage the execution in line with company's strategies
- Does not need micro-management to execute
- Exceptional attention to detail and autonomous time management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including a professional knowledge of English.
Preferred:
- Experience using Marketing tools (Mailchimp), project management software (e.g., Asana, Notion), and event platforms (e.g., Airmeet, Zoom).
What We Offer:
- Great upward mobility into a larger, portfolio success role (all senior team members at FI have grown into their roles from inside the company)
- Ability to join FI's Equity Collective, providing monetary upside in FI Alumni companies upon a full time role
- Remote Flexibility: Work from anywhere with the autonomy to drive results in your own style.
-
Ability to learn from top entrepreneurs, investors, and executives throughout FI’s global network and suite of acceleration programs.
