Our Spare Parts Supply Chain function is a global network focused on delivering availability, quality, and reliability—on time and cost-efficiently. Within this structure, our Supplier & Sourcing team leads the development and execution of sourcing strategies that enhance supplier performance, support localization, and secure competitiveness for the future.
Role Summary & Purpose
As Supplier & Sourcing Manager, you will lead regional and global procurement initiatives, driving supplier excellence and strategic cost management in line with business objectives. This position will be responsible for optimizing sourcing activities related to spare parts, capital goods, and consumables within the mining sector, including supplier evaluation, cost modelling, and performance improvements.
You will be instrumental in influencing sourcing decisions, supporting manufacturing strategies (in-house vs. outsource), and shaping a resilient supplier network for the future of mining.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Analysis
Lead quotation and sourcing strategies for critical spare parts and service packages.
Perform supplier market and trend analysis to drive cost-efficiency and strategic insights.
Execute category strategies and total cost of ownership evaluations.
Identify and onboard new suppliers in collaboration with technical and quality teams.
Supplier & Risk Management
Support supplier qualification and onboarding processes.
Drive cost optimization initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Assist with contract negotiations and commercial terms alignment.
Analyse make vs. buy options to align capacity, cost, and quality goals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with global procurement, engineering, and planning teams to integrate sourcing insights.
Partner with Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to align performance goals.
Monitor supplier performance using KPIs, quality reviews, and compliance metrics.
Reporting & Governance
Support global spend tracking and performance reporting for strategic decisions.
Share sourcing best practices and contribute to global procurement development.
Ensure adherence to internal policies, sustainability standards, and ethics compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supplier management within the mining, heavy industry, or manufacturing sectors.
Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in procurement platforms (SAP, Coupa, etc.).
Working knowledge of global mining supply markets and technical materials.
Experience in capital project sourcing or remote site procurement.
Background in make vs. buy analysis and global vendor management.
Fluency in Portuguese and English (both written and spoken).
