About the role

A Sr Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions that enhance our data infrastructure and support business insights. This role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective integration, processing, and data analysis across platforms.


Schedule: Monday to Friday 9am-6pm EST

Payrate: $25/hr



What you'll do


1. Data Integration & Pipeline Development: Design and manage ELT/ETL pipelines (Azure Data Factory) to integrate data from Salesforce and other sources into Azure SQL; implement Python for data transformation and automation.


2. Database & Performance Optimization: Ensure database performance through tuning, partitioning, indexing, and use of best practices. Manage changes using Git.


3. Data Warehousing: Familiarity with Data Warehousing concepts (e.g. star schema data modeling) and experience implementing in a Data Warehouse, Mart, Lakehouse or similar architecture.


4. Automation & Workflow Management: Use Azure Logic Apps and Power Automate to streamline and automate data workflows and reduce manual tasks.


5. Data Governance, Quality & Security: Apply data governance, quality and security standards across platforms in compliance with applicable regulations and best practices.


6. Stakeholder Collaboration & Support: Work with analysts, developers, and business users to translate data needs into scalable solutions. Support Power BI dashboarding and provide mentoring to junior engineers.


7. Documentation & Monitoring: Maintain clear documentation for processes, pipelines, and architecture. Build monitoring solutions for performance and health checks.


Qualifications

 Minimum Education and Experience Requirements (Essential Skills, Knowledge & Abilities)

1.     Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.

 

2.     5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on cloud-based solutions and data pipeline development.

 

3.     Salesforce data integration (APIs: REST/SOAP) required

 

4.     Azure SQL, Data Factory, Logic Apps, and DevOps required

 

5.     ETL/ELT methodologies; data modeling best practices required

 

6.     Python for scripting and automation required

 

7.     Git for version control and CI/CD pipeline management (optional) required

 

8.     Power BI for reporting and semantic modeling required

 

9.     Familiarity with data governance, security, and workflow automation in Azure required.
