Work Arrangement:
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Sao Caetano do sul three times per week, at minimum.
The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and experienced Talent Acquisition Manager for South America to join our global Talent Acquisition (TA) organization. This role will report to the Head of International TA and will lead a team of 7+ recruiters across multiple countries in South America.
As a key leader within General Motors’ People Organization, you will drive the strategy and execution of talent acquisition initiatives across the region, with a focus on high-impact hiring in areas such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Corporate Functions. You will play a critical role in shaping our regional workforce by partnering closely with business leaders, HR partners, and global TA stakeholders to deliver scalable, inclusive, and innovative recruiting solutions.
This role will also support current and future regional projects, including employer branding, workforce planning, and the implementation of global recruiting tools and processes tailored to the South American market.
Responsibilities:
Results Orientation : Lead and develop a high-performing team of recruiters across South America who deliver on business hiring needs with speed, quality, and a strong commitment to diversity. Ensure alignment with regional workforce priorities and hiring timelines.
Strategic Orientation : Partner proactively with business leaders, and HR partners across South America to understand future workforce plans and translate them into actionable recruiting strategies. Tailor approaches to attract, assess, and hire top talent across technical and non-technical functions in a competitive regional market.
People Leadership: Drive accountability for team and individual performance through clear goals, data-driven insights, and continuous development. Foster a culture of growth, inclusion, and excellence across geographically distributed teams.
Collaboration & Customer Focus : Build strong connectivity between TA, the broader People organization, and business stakeholders to ensure a seamless and positive experience for candidates and hiring managers. Champion regional collaboration while aligning with global TA standards.
Change Leadership: Use data, analytics, and market insights to lead operational improvements and scale recruiting systems across South America. Be a change agent who bridges local talent dynamics with GM’s global talent acquisition vision.
Market Knowledge: Stay informed and curious about regional labor trends, competitive intelligence, and best practices in talent acquisition. Apply these insights to continuously enhance the recruitment experience and position GM as an employer of choice across South America.
Qualifications:
Deep expertise in full-cycle recruiting across complex organizational structures and multicultural environments in South America
Proven leadership in managing recruiting teams across multiple countries and driving strategic talent initiatives is highly valued.
Proven leadership in regional recruiting strategies, with experience hiring across multiple talent segments including Experienced professionals, Hourly workforce, and Early Career talent (interns, graduates, apprenticeships)
Deep understanding of recruitment processes, sourcing techniques, and talent acquisition technologies, with the ability to adapt strategies to local market conditions
Demonstrated success in meeting hiring targets and driving performance through metrics, accountability, and continuous improvement
Exceptional judgment and operational excellence, with the ability to interpret data, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and make informed decisions
Strong consulting and coaching capabilities, with expertise in collaboration, conflict resolution, and influencing across cultures and functions
Multilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply, especially those proficient in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
Experience in HR or Compensation is preferred, especially in navigating regional labor laws and market practices
