The Director, FM LATAM is accountable for driving FM capabilities and providing oversight of micro-regional leads and site leads within the sub-region. This individual has accountability for globally standardized and consistent FM services within a distinct sub-region.
This role is responsible for alignment with the global FM and E&PS functions, site-agnostic regional roles, and outsourced vendors.
A suitable candidate for this role will have strong communication skills, experience in facilities management, and experience with outsourced facilities organization across Non-Supply Chain sites.
Key relationships include FM global functions, regional FM leadership, sub-regional business customers, site-level FM resources, outsourced vendors management team, key JNJ partners (e.g., Finance, IT, HR, EHS, GHS, and / or Procurement), and regulating agencies.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities
- Drive standardized and consistent FM services within a distinct sub-region. Eliminate sector driven silos. Coordinate with peers in the region
- Develop and maintain strategic business partner relationships between FM and each business sector within the sub-region
- Accountable for relationships with outsourced vendors for designated sub-region. Responsible for supplier issue resolution at the sub-regional level
- Responsible for alignment between global functions, site-agnostic regional roles, and outsourced vendors
- Serve as the point of escalation for FM standards, programs and processes within designated sub-region
- Manage and develop Micro-Region and Facility Leads across Supply Chain and Non-Supply Chain sites
- Accountable for business continuity plans and infrastructure management programs
- Serve as the point of escalation for FM participation and input on projects within designated sub-region
- Attend and/or chair customer and FM sub-regional and select regional level governance forums
- Oversee and ensure compliance with government regulations
- Accountable for deployment of FM and E&PS strategies and programs across sub-region
- Accountable for sub-region data and information accuracy to support regional and global metrics, programs and performance analysis. Responsible for sub-regional performance
- Responsible to champion and to deliver the FM Global and E&PS strategic initiatives within sub-region
- Monitor and drive compliance with required trainings
- Accountable for up-to-date occupancy, utilization and spatial data.
- Responsible for fiduciary oversight and performance management oversight of operating and capital budgets
Crisis Management:
- During crisis events, crisis management responsibilities will supersede security-related duties
- Lead Regional CMT meetings, establish clear decision-making processes and action management, establish mechanisms to gather real-time information during a crisis and update on activity to RCMT, GCMT and senior leaders as appropriate
- Participation as a Core CMT member for all activated LCMTs to guide and introduce Regional SME support to address emerging critical issues
- Lead After Action Reviews (AAR) to recognize and address lessons learned for all deactivated CMTs and other ongoing CMT activity in Region to enable continuous improvement of crisis management protocols
- Partner with the Core Regional CMT (E&PS Regional Lead, Global Security Regional, Lead, One HR Regional Lead, Global Corporate Affairs Regional Lead and ISRM Regional Lead) during active crises to agree live crisis management approach!
- Lead assessment of reported incidents and threats with Core Regional CMT to determine realized or potential impacts to the company that may necessitate activation of a CMT. Communicating recommended response to reported incidents to Regional CMT and senior leaders.
Required Qualifications:
Required Minimum Education:
- University/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, Architecture or similar degree required. Master’s degree in engineering, Business, Architecture or similar preferred.
Required Years of Related Experience:
- A minimum of ten to twelve (10-12) years of related work experience.
- Strong proven experience in Commercial Real Estate (CRE) or facilities and/or real estate function.
- Strong management and technical skills.
- Experience related to risk management, quality, safety, and compliance.
- Knowledge of business strategy and projected business unit requirements for the workplace, infrastructure, real property, and facilities, including impact on the portfolio plan.
- Ability to make decisions across business units with authority.

- Fluency in English is required.
- Spanish and Portuguese preferred.
- Experience working with and socializing strategies within a complex regionally driven organization.
- Experience leading a regional or sub-regional real estate and/or facilities function at multinational enterprises with non-manufacturing sites.
