Job Description
The Field Service Engineer (FSE) plays a key role in delivering high-quality service that enhances machine performance and ensures an exceptional customer experience. Our FSEs are proactive, solutions-focused professionals who take initiative and are accountable for the delivery, installation, and ongoing maintenance of our equipment.
They bring a well-rounded skill set in mechanical, electrical, and computer systems, including equipment operation, assembly, and installation. Their responsibilities span the full service lifecycle—from initial setup through preventive maintenance—ensuring our customers consistently achieve optimal results.
Collaboration is essential in this role. FSEs work closely with both customers and internal teams, promoting safety and reliability while upholding our global standards of excellence.
Operations
- Ensure that machines are working according to customer expectations.
- React to machine problems in the field within an appropriate time frame and ensure prompt resolution. When an easy solution is not possible, make sure the customer is well informed about the plan and potential costs.
- Solves mechanical or operational efficiency problems.
- Troubleshoot machine and/or performance issues until resolved.
- Perform preventative maintenance to include pre- and post-season machine maintenance and work to improve the continuous performance of the machines.
- Complete disassembly and installation of mechanical components such as shafts, bearings, belts, motors.
- Maintain close relationship with sales leadership by providing updates to customers and advising on potential sales opportunities or customer concerns for follow-up action(s).
- Actively contributes to continuous improvement activities.
- Assist with the training and development of new Field Service Engineers as requested.
Customer service
- Address or escalate customer complaints; ensure these are investigated or resolved, where possible, in a timely, clear and professional manner.
- Work proactively with customers and internal stakeholders to successfully complete projects (eg, testing, retrofits, retrofits, or R&D site upgrades).
- Conduct customer training, as required.
Health & Safety Responsibility:
- Actively follow all relevant procedures and legal requirements, prioritize safety in every task, and take ownership of complying with all health and safety standards to protect yourself and those around you.
Qualifications
- Preferred background: Technical or Engineering degree in Automation and Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial Electricity, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- 0-2 years of experience.
- Must have class B driver's license.
- Able to see electromechanical topics.
- SEC A or B electrical installer license, not exclusive but desirable.
- English at least at an intermediate level to have a communicative conversation.
- Ability to interpret manuals, electrical, electronic and other diagrams.
- Orientation towards the external client, good problem-solving capacity, analytical skills and ability to work under pressure, good communication skills.
- Availability to relocate and travel frequently.
Additional Information
- Ability to bend, kneel, and stand frequently, and work in confined spaces.
- Capacity to work under pressure.
- Ability to lift up to 20 kilos, on a regular basis.
- Ability to distinguish between the full range of colors in the color spectrum
- Ability to work in food processing plants, farms, cold storage facilities, and outdoors in high or low temperatures.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime, as requested.
- Must be able to drive without restrictions and possess a valid driver's license.
- Not have significant food allergies that impede the ability to work around or near food, nuts, fruits, and vegetables.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively and must be able to obtain a valid passport to travel
