Job Description Summary:
The Aviagen Group is a multi-national poultry breeding company headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, with locations in approximately 25 countries. Aviagen companies supply broiler breeder day-old grandparent and parent stock chicks to customers located in more than 100 countries.We are seeking an experienced Poultry Nutrition Specialist to join our technical team in Latin America. This position plays a critical role in supporting our regional sales and technical service teams by developing tailored nutrition programs, providing expert customer support, and leading collaborative nutritional research initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in poultry nutrition combined with a deep understanding of the Latin American market and customer needs.
Job Description:
- Responsible for the formulation and implementation of nutrition programs to optimize production performance, health, and quality for grandparents, parent stock, and broilers
- Responsible for feed formulation analysis
- Formulation assistance and nutrition program development for other technical service team members, salesmen, and customers
- Work closely with production and farm managers and other team members to troubleshoot challenges in production
- Plan and develop innovative poultry nutrition research and Work directly with cooperative Research teams to coordinate and collaborate research objectives
- Keep up to date on changing industry information by attending conferences, trade shows, and reading industry publications
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Animal Science or Nutrition
- At least 5 years of commercial/integrator poultry nutrition experience
- Strong knowledge of poultry production practices and practical experience in livestock production and feed manufacturing is required
- Individuals should be experienced with computers and familiar with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and feed formulation and statistical analyses software programs
- Excellent organizational, time-management, multi-tasking, leadership, problem-solving, and communication (oral and written) skills must be demonstrated
- The position demands a self-motivated individual who is capable of demonstrating initiative and working well in a fast-paced environment and multidisciplinary and diverse teams
- Strong knowledge of experimental design (field and research facilities), data analysis, modelling, interpretation of results, and report writing
- Must be detail-oriented and systematic in designing and executing short and long-term objectives
- Willingness to travel approximately 50%.
- Ability to educate clients about new nutritional information and technologies and enhance their understanding of interactions between nutrition and performance in different environments.
