The Role
As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.
There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Responsibilites:
- Install, configure, and maintain CICS regions and associated subsystems on IBM z/OS.
- Monitor and tune CICS performance to ensure high availability and responsiveness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CICS - related incidents and problems in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with application development, database, and network teams to support integrated solutions.
- Perform version upgrades, apply patches, and manage CICS software lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine tasks and system monitoring.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Availability to work on-call rotation or in non-business hours.
- Experience with CICS in a z/OS environment.
- System Administration: Installation, upgrade and maintenance of CICS and related products.
- Performance Optimization: Ability to analyze CICS system logs, troubleshoot ABENDs and apply patches.
- Security & Compliance: Experience in setting security policies and web-enabling CICS. Knowledge of CICS security policies, encryption and access control.
- Disaster Recovery: Knowledge and experience with backup strategies, recovery procedures and high-availability configurations.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field.
- Advanced English level.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in REXX, COBOL, JCL, TSO/ISPF and CICS SSL setup.
- Strong knowledge of CICS Transaction Server, CICSplex System Manager and CICS Web Services.
- Experience with performance tuning, troubleshooting ABENDs, and applying FIX packs.
- Familiarity with third-party monitoring tools like Omegamon, CICS PA, Fault Analyzer, and Sysview.
- Understanding of System z communications, SNA concepts and assembler output listings.
