About the role:
Passionate about employee experience, the Country Care HR Consultant will report to the Country Care Latam Lead. This role will be an operational driver and in-country HR subject matter expert. This position will partner with HRBP's of business division, Centers of Excellence, shared services (“Pearson People Services”), Payroll, Solutions (IT), and Finance, to keep Pearson competitive and compliant. You’ll be the Point of Contact for Brazil within the global Country Care organization. Your peers lead Country Care activities all around the globe.
Key Responsibilities.
- Implement both long and short-term strategies as per the business division HRBP guideline.
- Manage adherence to Compliance/local regulations.
- Partner with our Legal COE teams on local legislation update, employee relation matters.
- Maximize the value of services across the employee hire to retire lifecycle, through an exceptional delivery and provide expertise support in an HR compliance standpoint.
- Identify gaps and work on a Process Improvement portfolio. Provide an exceptional experience through innovation, simplification, and digitization.
- Manage high profile escalations through multiple team partnership, assess root cause, implement solutions to reduce escalations and improve processes.
- Strategically manage local vendor performance including SOW, SLA establishment with our benefits vendors.
- Act as a sounding board for our HRBP and COE for any case escalation related to a specific business division.
- Maintain positive relationships with the Latam HR Teams to ensure effective co-operation and synergy. Share best practices.
- Oversee the Employee Relations including the Unions negotiations and company representation.
- Be part of the local leadership team advising and leading the local HR policies and local compliances.
- Define all the HR local policies according to Pearson needs and local legislation requirements.
- Oversee, help, advise and support the HRBP and local management on the implementation of the local HR legislation.
- Support the facilities team regarding the Health and Safety employee requirements.
- Advice on the Legal Entity governance.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of education.
- Professional experience across all Human Resources subsystems.
- Significant experience in Employee Relations, Benefits Management, and negotiations with the local Union.
- Knowledge of Payroll and Personnel Administration routines.
- A natural ability to discern, organize, and convey complex problems and solutions.
- Thrive in an environment with an agenda for change, growth, and innovation.
- Student of simplification and making complex processes appear simple to the end user.
- Gifted at executing corporate strategies into locally relevant applications.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Availability to attend Pearson's office in São Paulo (Barra Funda) 1 to 2 times per week.
